Wacky, that's one thing to call it!
I'm in but the competition looks tough!
Oh man, I'm feeling very outclassed now!
bigRahn - you'll be fine mate. Welcome to the challenge.
Well my mate has just told me that she thinks its too easy this one, she says she could walk more than that in 29 hours... I am reassessing our friendship!!
is this like 29 consecutive hours??
Yes mate! Check out Rahns website above for more info
[link]Yeah, my strategy is 1 mile per hour for 29 hours! Any hour I get more than that done means I get to sleep.
I will try my best, but I'm a little intimitaded by the mileage!! Fun idea though :D
IMama: it will be great training for your marathon in April
Yeah, you're right! I'm looking forward to the challenge. Thanks :D
How far behind GMT is US/Central time? This is going to take some planning!
to clarify: timing is all based on your local timezone. Don't worry about trying to match up with someone else unless your running with them.
And to answer your question, 6 hours. I think.
I'm still dithering over how many runs to break this down into...
PS If you click on the little ? after start and end time on the challenges it tells you the time difference - yeah its 6hrs!
Hey, how about that. Of course, I'm confused on why it's in central time, since I'm in Eastern.
And as far as how many runs to break it into, I'd suggest at least 2: 28 miles + 1 sauntering casual mile. :)
The last casual mile worries me the most ;)
At least two eh, oh i was gonna do it in one hit - ha ha I don't think. Mama is right its the last one thats gonna be the killer, just hope the snow keeps away !
Yeah, the first 28 are easy....just like a marathon, it's that last.2 that kills you.
maybe I should start with the killing last 2 and the approach the easy 28 ;)
Uh Oh...looks like we have another fool from the UK.
I don't expect to get too far but you don't get better without trying. ;-)
That's the problem with expectations...you need to try to exceed them. :)
And if any one can, Ande can!
Thanks Sarey, I'm glad there's no pressure on me now. ;-)
(That's us all staring at Ande, wating for expectations to be exceeded)
shouldn't we start stretching or something??
Hey Sarey - I've got journalists emailing me about this now!!
Journalists? That's cool. Do they actually have anything to say?
Does anyone want bib numbers to wear tomorrow? I was going to be silly and make some up.
(Since it is a race and all)
Can I have 2929? sounds perfect :)
You got it! There they are
Thanks my friend! I love it :D I'm ready to go!!
lol. bigRahn, you must have way too much time on your hands.
Wow Ande, you dark horse! Great running m8!
Soz bout the journalists - this run is story of the week in Cumbria!!
What are the odss that Patcini does it in 1 run? ;-)
that should be odds not odss.
Yeah I expect Patcini to show us how it should be done too ande!
Holy cow! Y'all over on the other side of the worl are doing great! You'll be done before I've even finished my first leg.
(and yeah, I probably do have too much time. Nothing good is on TV.)
Ande, sorry to hear about your treadmill casualty.
Long run in the miserable, damned awful, p1ssing rain and gale force winds! Still, it's done now!! :)
Part I down - now time for lunch.
Way hay guys - a very rare thing has happened today, I'm rather bloomin pleased with myself! Getting a beer now and watch the rest of ya!!
Thank you kind sir, and you will be pleased to know that I did swear a bit in my fine English accent!
Oh, I'm sure you did. And I get it sounds like you weren't swearing at all. Gotta love the accent.
(it occured to me that you were probably cursing me since I screwed up your bib number.)
not quiet there yet, but tomorrow :)
All hail Sareybabes for finishing first. ;-)
yep! great accomplishemt! Congrats :)
The last km was the hardest and looks like I didn't need to do it. ;-(
Congratulations on finishing Ric.
Oh wow Ande, well done! And to all of us I think. Cracking challenge Rahn, thanks :-)
what's happened to Patcini, Knife & Frosty?
can't believe it...have to go and run 0.01mi
Mama!! Welcome to the finish line! (Whats a hundredth between friends!!)
there you go! My Ego is bigger than my blisters ;) Thanx Sarezbabes!
Rahn better hurry up, his virtual beer is getting warm
And Ric's got his eye on it!
So whats all this bout new shoes then Ande?
Yay, welcome across the line Rahn that's gotta be 50k, well done!
Can we have our beers now??
Oops already P1ssed here Mama, cheers1
Beer! Need post-carb load!
But someone else is going to have to get up and bring it to me. I'm barely moving.
And bring some pretzels too.
Well so much for Patcini showing us the way... think we all did a pretty good job! Cheers all!
