Seriously, you're gonna throw down like that on day one, OmieWise? You know we're doing this in American miles, right?
Sorry, guys, it's my long weekend. Tomorrow's numbers will be worse. But then I get to relax for the week.
The only thing I like better than running is not running!
Yeah, you run like someone who doesn't like running.
Sweet hot sh!t...I thought *I* was a masochist? Slarty, it's you and me for 2nd place, aight?
hehe... we'll see how this goes. Should be interesting.
wow lots of competition this month. if this was january you would think it was new year's resolutions.
I should say here both OmieWise and I are training for REALLY long races this summer...
Can one of you distance guys email me how the eff you keep from getting bored on your long runs? Christ, the 8.5 I did on sunday, I thought I was gonna fall asleep at the six mile mark.
I'll usually do at least one podcast on my long runs, I get bored too.
Really... I just love running, cruising around my neighborhood. I guess I'm lucky I live in a really chillled out, runnable town (as far as these things go) where the weather is nice this time of year. For my long runs, I head into the mountains.... I dunno, it's just a really good scene...
I don't really get bored if I'm running outside. Sometimes I zone out, but I spend a lot of time thinking about the places I'm running. On harder runs I spend a lot of time figuring splits and stuff.
Ok, so I'm not nuts for doing splits math in my head as I go to occupy the time. Any good running/pace podcasts you can point me to?
Let's take this to the forum.
yeah... it's a little nutty, seeing it all on the page like that. Basically, I'm looking to do 50-60 miles a week...
I am damn impressed. I'd have to quit my job if I ran more than this.
I'd have to learn to walk on my *hands* if I ran as much as you guys!!!
It's the long on the weekends and occassinoal two-a-days that rack them up.
Yeah... you're really killin' it on the weekends, OmnieWise. Kick ass!
As I group, I've gotta say, we're pretty much kicking ass. How ya other folks holding up so far?
Slarty, you're really upping the miles compared to past months.
I'm holding in there. At least, after today, I know I can do a half. Great feeling, really-esp for a guy who couldn't run more than three last summer.
You're putting up good miles. Getting up over ten for one run is a great milestone.
Thanks! Hey, this sidebar is less "trash talk" than back slapping. Nice!
6 weeks to the Vancouver Marathon!
Oh nice, Slarty. I've always wanted to do that run. I'm doing the Zane Gray 50 Miler in about a month... I'm kind of afraid.
What is this, Slarty - a contest or something?
Looks like another race down the stretch. Hope the Seattle Meetup doesn't slow me down too much.
26.2 PR today: about 3:39, and first +70 mile week ever!
After a meetup last night.
So... this is how it ends, eh? Dude... you just destroyed me there at the end. Nice work, OmieWise...
Sweet mother of Christ, Slarty...glad I didn't go out and run two miles just to get past you - would have been pointless.
