I am a huge fan of Sirius satellite radio's Octane 20 www.sirius.com/octane -- a station for hard rock. Kayla is mixing it up on Octane from Noon-6PM EST, and today between songs she kept on coming up with great hard rock songs for her listeners to work out and run to. I emailed her and asked her for her list, and here's what she fired back to me:

Nothingface: So Few
Korn: It's On
Snot: Snooze Button
40 Below Summer: Rope
The Afters: Never Going Back to OK
Red: Break Me Down
Blindside: Pitiful
Candlebox: Don't You
Taproot: She
Sevendust: Pieces or Waffle
Killswitch Engage: Rose of Sharyn or My Last Serenade
Alter Bridge: When Tomorrow Comes

She said she has more, but those are the ones off the top of her head. She also noted that most aren't new.

So... rockers of RUNNER+, what do you think? Do you have any great suggestions to add to her list?

Rock on good people, or as Kayla says, "STAY HEAVY!"

BTW, here are a few of Kayla's pages: www.myspace.com/siriuskayla and www.siriuskayla.com

Don't have a sirius radio unfortunetly.. just thinking today how nice it would be to listen to the radio while running. The same songs over-and-over gets a little old.

Looks like there's some good ones already one there, a few more of my favorite running ones are:

Evergreen Terrace (possibly my favorite metal band of recent years) - Chaney Can't Quite..., Rip This!
As I Lay Dying - Forever, Collision
Avenged Sevenfold - Chapter Four, Second Heartbeat

Not really as hard, but I find almost any Rise Against song great to run to.

Good thread, it's nice to have suggestions for new music to try out.

I tried logging in from my iPhone as soon as Kayla mentioned it and couldn't, but I did call Chris ASAP!

Kayla is the best and I hope she comes over to R+ and gets some mileage on her running shoes!

Congrats Chris!

Hey all
I am new to Runner+, and I heard about it today on Kayla's show. I fully agree with her tracks being great for runs! I will post my list over the next few days to check out, but in the meantime, one band that is great for running is a band called "Black Tide" sounds like early Metallica meets early Motley Crue...song is called "Shockwave"...check it out!

Hey mmartorano - I've just downloaded that track from iTunes. Sounds good! I'm always on the look out for new bands/tracks so anyone have any other suggestions?

There are a few Sirius Podcasts on iTunes but not one for Kayla's show unfortunately. Great that R+ got a mention though Chris Creeping fame!

Hey All:
I need my music for running also---great tunes here. But don't forget about some of the oldies, like "Proud Mary". I've just picked up a great carrier for my ipod. The price was great and I even received it within 4 business days. Take a look:
