Hi,

For us Linux users it would be a great feature if it was possible to manually upload the .xml files to RUNNER+. I don't know how big the need is, but it will hopefully help some users who don't have access to Windows/MacOS at home.

Thanks for a superb site!

latito, thanks for the suggestion.... I'll work on support for it! I have Ubuntu... what do you use? I am also looking into a possible widget, although at first a simple file upload will be available.

Thanks for the respons!

Currently I use Slack on my desktop and Ubuntu on my laptop, although I have had plans to install Slack on my (employers) laptop for about a year... Unfortunately Ubuntu is quite easy to maintain, and I am a little bit to lazy so I haven't migrated yet :/

For the implementation, I'm quite fond of the "keep it simple" way as it will be a nice solution which solves the problem. (The easy way is the best way, as long as nobody demands more )

I just converted my laptop from Vista to Ubuntu and am looking for a way to upload my run data as well.

This thread is a few months old... any updates?

A manual upload would be great. Is there any progress on this feature? I currently have to log into windows whenever I want to upload and its just a pain. Again, I'd be into just a simple upload .xml feature in my control panel... no fancy widget required.

Thanks, The site is great, by the way.

Yes, this feature is still planned -- may I ask you what OS you are using? We do have the Yahoo! Widget which works on Windows and Mac OS X.

Chris, do you know if there is a open standard for workout data? Shouldn't we propose one? A good starting point could the the iPod XML, but we could add geodata on the top of it, cadence data for bikers, heart hate, etc. Then device manufacturers could adhere to the standard straight from their devices or, at least, the open source community could develop connectors for the "openworkout" standard in the future. Any thoughts?

Ricardo, there definitely is not an open standard and I think it's a great idea. There are aspects that I like about Nike's and there are aspects that I like at Garmin's... but trying to get Nike or Garmin to standardize on a single format would be a huge uphill battle.

Hey there,

I just bought a Nike+ Sports Kit today, and I am so glad that I found this site.
This community is great.

So I am looking forward to a solution of the Linux-Widget support.
I am using Ubuntu (Hardy Heron).

@Chris: Do you know when a manual upload of xml files will be available? Soon or later???

Best regards,
Michael

hey ... I am desperately waiting for an upload feature as well. Should be really easy to implement as I guess the sync applet does not really do something different to that.
I like runnerplus better than runometer, but without the upload feature it gets useless for me, as the days of my last non-linux computer are counted :(
@Chris: Shouldn't this be possible to do in very little time (more like hours than days)?
Thanks a lot and please consider welcoming linux users as well
