Matt,

Keith and I are going to do 7 miles before the SW 1/2 marathon on Saturday. We will be starting from the McGee Center about 6:30am, any suggestions on where or where not to run? I was going to figure us a route and would imagine at that time most roads should be good to run on.

Thanks
Kris

You could run from there to downtown and back and it will be around 7 miles. Go East on College, North on Farris, East on Robinson all the way til you're downtown and return the same way. I don't think I would want to run part of the course, since you'll be running it soon enough. There will be some traffic at 6:30, especially on race day over there.

OR you could go run Nob Hill where I do hill repeats, that would be about a 7 mile out and back.

Hogpharm needs to run with me in this race. I'm running it in 1:49:30, even if I have to stop for a few minutes at the last water stop. You'll see me in a neon green SW 1/2 shirt holding the pace group sign. It's an 8:23 pace. There are 1:45, 1:50, 1:55, 2:00 & 2:15 pace groups, so pretty much any pace is covered. I would recommend all of them, the leaders of each one are fun to run with.

WOW!! You're in luck. I just did a map my run and it is 3.5 to the back side of Nob Hill, so there and back is 7. That is my recommendation, since I love torturing people with very hilly routes around Conway.

Hmmm, remember I do know a little about Conway and i'm familiar with Nob Hill- back in the day it was the cut thru to the dump, not sure why I know that- but anyway, I think we may go on a scenic tour of downtown Conway. Thanks anyway for your torturous route.

I am not running this race for any particular time, I just thought it would be good to support a run in Conway and it will be a fun way to get in 13 of our 20 miles for the day. I am also running with some people that I know are slower than me just to keep me honest with my slow pace. Keith is supposed to take the same attitude but races do something to him and he leaves all reason at the starting line. I would think 8:23 would be a good pace for him but it depends on how his injuries are doing- gotta get healed for San Antonio in 3 weeks!

Ready for your marathon next weekend? Looking good from what I can tell!

Thanks
kris

Yep, I'm ready. I feel like I've been training to run a marathon for 6 months. It is going to be weird to only run two to four mile runs next week.
