Has anyone used this site? www.bluechippy.co.uk/runadjusterweb

The concept looks interesting... I am just curious about what, exactly, it does before I upload anything. Thanks in advance.

It enables you to "fix" your run distance if you know your exact distance and you think your sensor is not accurate enough. Its the same as adjusting your final distance here on runnerplus website exept for 2 things:
1. bluechippy fixes the inaccuracy at the source (xml file on your ipod) so its also correct on Nikeplus site.
2. All the partial measurement points are also adjusted, not just the final distance.

Wow, it sounds pretty comprehensive. Thanks for the feedback.

That looks awesome. Many of my runs are overstated by ~10% and the Nike+ won't seem to hone in...

My runs are never accurate. I ran a 5k this weekend and I knew the route was accurtate, but Nike + came up with just under a 5K. I recalibrate it often on a highschool track but your right it is either 5-10% over or under.

I emailed the author. I'm new, so I only have 74 runs or so, but I'd love to just batch-adjust them all down 10%. I know that my time:distance would give me a lot more usable pacing data. I love running with music and I don't think a GPS is a viable solution as most of my running is on a treadmill. I have never successfully calibrated my Nike+. It always tells me I did not run the distance selected.

BTW, I adjusted one run, and the updated data did not appear here after synch. DO I need to remove my runs frm here and then re-add with a new synch?

This bluechippy thing is a very interesting concept, and for legitimate calibration it would be great. But some non-legitimate uses seem apparent too!

Yeah, potatohead, but cheaters can make those changes manually right here. In the long run (hahaha) the only honorable thing to do is assume nobody is cheating and hold yourself to the same standard. (Unless you are responsible for officiating or auditing results)

I had a run that was off by .25 miles and could only get it adjusted by .10 or so. It would not upload correctly to the nike+ website when i tried to adjust it to .25 and .10 was the best adjustment I could get to upload without giving errors. I also use a Forerunner 305 to track the miles and base my distance on that rather than the nike+, which varies widely depending on the pace I am running for the day.

When my runs are really off, which happens mostly if I sprint the final 400m or so, I edit the xml manually (using XML Marker) and load the 10sec km distances into excel. I can see where the sprint section is reported much slower, and noisier than the steady sections. I an adjust this but its a pain and I usually just manually adjust the final distance. But mostly I just live with it. I still haven't given up my Dead Runner's Society Spreadsheet.

I did have one problem. I took an older run that had already been uploaded here, deleted it from the Runnerplus database, edited it with Bluechippy, saved it with the same file name and it would not re-import. I ended up having to create it manually with the known time and distance. I may create a dummy account here for more testing befire I mess up all my run data here (and do the same over at the flash-bloated Nike+ site)

It seems to be very accurate. I run with both my Nike+Nano and with me iPhone with RunKeeper (www.runkeeper.com) that uses GPS to measure your run and plot on GoogleMap.
Since I've seen a 4% inaccurancy I will correct my run.

A lot better than www.nikeplusedit.com/index.php where you can have your xml file to upload to nike+ site even without running :-(

Yes, valterb, but those cheaters look like fat slobs, so does anybody really think they're putting up 6 minute miles? I like the sound of the RunKeeper, though. I Hope to find one for the blackberry. Until then, I'll just keep the darned thing in my car or in my locker...

Has anybody else noticed that www.bluechippy.co.uk/runadjusterweb is down today with a server error?

www.nikeplusedit.com
If you're a Nike+ user and missing a run in your Nike+ profile then this site has been built for you. You can create your own files for uploading into Nike+ which are delivered straight to your inbox.

Not for adjusting runs. I have used twice when my iPod Nano have failed to produce a file to upload to Nike+ and it has been accepted.

I used it as well when my iPod was empty of charge.

runadjusterweb seems out of order since a week or so...
The manyeiner, bluechippy, is a runnerplus user, but his last visit was on last january, and last run on march.
It could be that he didn't re-new his web site account.
