I'm doing my 2nd one this October, hoping to improve on my time of 2hr 45 for the last one (please don't laugh at me - I did run all the way!)

That's great! I was training for a marathon a little while back (I got up to like 22 miles in training), but then got the Runner's Knee, so now I'm a little skittish about long distances. Best of luck to you, though!

Oh dear! I prefer long distances slow to short distances fast... and am careful not to over-stretch myself although had time out in the last training for my weaker leg. Now all sorted with an orthotic to balance my leg lengths and feel fine.

Did my first proper tempo run today - something I would never have attempted without having the Half to train for!!

I'm training for my first half in September. I've been having some knee problems after 3-4 miles recently, but I've received some professional recommendations for exercises to strengthen it. I did a five-miler at a nine-minute pace last month, so my goal pace for the half is ten minutes (that'd be 2:10).

Wow - that's impressive. I'm going for 11.5-12.00 although I'm doing better in my training so far (only on week 3 though!) than I did last time, so can hopefully keep up with the speedwork.

I've been working on mine but it's been SO freaking hot and humid here that I've really slacked. I'm supposed to run 8 mi, as....I was for last week. And the week before. Gr.

I haven't really settled on a pace; my recent runs have been ~7mi at 10 min, but I need to start slowing it down.

I'm half-assed training for the Portland Marathon in early October, but my wedding distracted me. I'm trying to decide if it's too late to get in shape (only goal is to finish, though.)

I'm running 10 miles at a time without problem. If I get up to 15 by the end of August, am I at a realistic place to run it?

I'm running the Victoria Half Marathon in October in prep for the California International Marathon in December. Just joined this group, don't have Nike+ but am entering my Garmin data manually...thought it would be fun to join in on the Metafilter running madness. My realistic half time is probably somewhere around 1:14-15, looking for a 2:35ish marathon in December.
